The furthest we drive, and why it still works

Netanya is the furthest point we cover at the standard price, and getting there takes fifty to sixty-five minutes. That is significant and it goes first rather than last.

Even so, Netanya is one of the cities we work in most outside the Tel Aviv metro area, for one reason: it is a hotel city. There is a real hotel strip facing the sea, the second largest in the country after Tel Aviv, and guests who come for several days. A hotel booking does not depend on neighbours, a residents’ committee or a balcony, so this is the one place where the distance gets in the way least.

What the distance does require is planning. A spontaneous booking for an hour from now does not work in Netanya. A day ahead solves it, and in season two days is better.

The hotel strip

From the cliff down to the promenade there are dozens of hotels at every price level, and this is our main format in the city. The rules are the same as any hotel in the country: the dancer goes up alone in ordinary street clothes, does not stop in the lobby and says nothing at reception. What is different in Netanya is scale. The hotels here are larger than those in Bat Yam, with generous lobbies and several lifts, which is comfortable — there is no sense of a narrow corridor where everyone sees everything. On the other hand a number of them are family hotels with a lot of evening traffic, so it is better if the guest who booked is in the room rather than the whole group waiting in the doorway.

Guests from abroad, and languages

A large share of the guests in Netanya come from outside Israel, and a good number of the enquiries we get from this city are written in French or English.

What we can promise: every dancer we work with performs in English, and the site has a full English version including this page. What we cannot promise is French — correspondence with us runs in Hebrew or English. Better to know that now than at two in the morning.

Payment is cash in shekels at the end of the show, with no deposit and no card details. Hotel lobbies here have cash machines, but foreign card withdrawal limits are often lower than people expect, so sort it out during the day.

Ir Yamim and the towers on the sea

Besides the hotels, Netanya has newer neighbourhoods of high residential towers, mainly in Ir Yamim and Agamim. Some of those flats are let short term, and a different kind of booking comes from them.

The advantages: the flats are large, the living rooms are generous, and the newer towers have underground parking with a lift running straight up. The dancer comes up without passing the lobby at all, which is the most discreet arrangement available anywhere. All we need is a gate code and a floor number.

One thing to check in a short-let flat: how late is allowed. Buildings like these have an active residents’ committee and plenty of families, and midnight is not the moment to start negotiating it. Tell us in advance and we plan an hour that fits.

Height, wind and a balcony on the twentieth floor

In Bat Yam the wind problem is at ground level near the water. In Netanya it is a question of height, which behaves differently.

A balcony high up facing the sea gets far more wind than the street below, even on a calm evening. Down at ground level it can feel like there is no wind at all while on the twentieth floor it is knocking glasses over. Some balconies in the newer towers are glazed, which solves it completely, but if yours is open the show happens inside next to the door with the view left as the backdrop.

One more local detail: the cliff. If you are in a cliff-top hotel and planning to step outside afterwards, the wind up there is constant all year, not only in winter.

Seasons matter here more than anywhere else

Netanya runs on domestic and international tourism, so demand follows the calendar rather than the days of the week.

In summer and around the holidays the hotels are full and bookings arrive at short notice from people who decided on the spot. That is exactly when our own availability narrows fastest, so in season it pays to confirm two days ahead.

In the quiet season, in winter and midweek, everything is simpler: same-day booking is realistic, arrival is faster and there is no traffic at the entrance to the city.

What people book here

Bachelor parties built around a weekend in a hotel come first, then evenings for groups who came on holiday. After that birthdays in tower flats and private flat bookings in the newer neighbourhoods.

Company events are relatively rare here; this is not a city of office towers. Anyone looking for that books to Raanana or to the Bnei Brak office strip. Some clients pick a cabin further north instead, which from Netanya is already close.

Styles

A holiday mood, and the choice follows it: latino and samba, go-go and club sets for larger groups in a flat. For a hotel room, which is a smaller space, burlesque, lap dance and pin-up work better.

Arrival and price

Fifty to sixty-five minutes. In summer and around holidays the entrance to the city is busy and it sits at the top of that range; in winter and midweek at the bottom. We give a real window rather than a number that sounds good.

After one in the morning a return-journey charge is added, and at this distance it is noticeable. It is quoted in the message before anything is confirmed and never appears at the end of the night. Send us the hotel or address, the hour and the number of guests.

What is nearby

Netanya borders Kfar Saba and Raanana to the south east, and further down the coast is Herzliya. If you are somewhere between them, send the address and we will give an exact arrival time.
