The business district after hours

Ramat Gan generates a kind of booking you almost never see in residential neighbourhoods: a closed evening in an office once everyone else has gone home. A leaving party, the end of a project, somebody’s birthday. It needs a different touch, because the room is mixed, not everyone knows each other, and a show pitched too hard ruins the evening rather than making it.

What works in that format is measured and elegant: light interaction with the room rather than with each person individually, and focused attention on whoever the evening is for. We ask how many women are in the room before suggesting a dancer or a format. That one question prevents most of the awkwardness.

The Diamond Exchange and visiting guests

The Diamond Exchange district brings in a steady flow of people from abroad, and a share of our English bookings here come from exactly that: an evening for visiting colleagues or clients staying in the towers around the exchange.

Two things worth knowing. Every dancer works in English, so nothing needs arranging in advance on that front. And the format for this kind of evening is different from a bachelor party: slower, built on the performance, with burlesque or fashion rather than anything loud. If the evening is with colleagues rather than friends, read company events first, because that page sets out when it fits and when the evening is better split in two.

Offices: when yes and when better not

We say this plainly, even when saying it costs us the booking. An office is also a workplace on Monday morning, and people walk back into that same room. An evening that goes wrong stays in the team’s memory long after the dancer has driven home.

It works when everyone not part of the evening has left the building, when the group is closed and knows in advance what the evening contains, and when there are no direct reporting lines between whoever is sitting on the chair and whoever pushed him into it. It works badly when half a department turned up because an email said there was a team night.

Residential towers

The towers in central Ramat Gan and Givatayim have a lobby and cameras. Same procedure as everywhere: ordinary clothes, nothing unusual in hand, the costume goes on in the flat. In practice nobody pays attention.

What is worth knowing about the newer towers: the lift usually needs a card or a floor code, and without one there is no going up at all. Somebody has to come down to the lobby, so mention it when booking. Skip the underground car park with a barrier, since the guard and the camera sit exactly there. The ride stops on the street.

Neighbours in a tower behave differently from an old building. The walls are good, but a flat door onto a corridor echoes, and a group cheering at once is audible along the whole floor. Moderate volume and a closed door solve it entirely.

Ramat Chen and Kiryat Ono

The private side of the area: houses with gardens, room for a larger show, and far fewer questions about neighbours. Most bookings there are classic bachelor parties of ten to twenty people, duo or VIP.

A private house opens up what does not fit in a flat: the VIP format with three dancers and ninety minutes in three parts, with movement between spaces during the breaks. A garden works in summer and only on a dry surface, and white outdoor floodlighting flattens everything exactly the way a ceiling light does.

Why this is easier than Tel Aviv

Two practical things that change an evening and nobody thinks about until they run into them.

Parking first. In Ramat Gan and Givatayim a car can stop outside the entrance, which sounds minor until you compare it with the alleys of Florentin or Jaffa where the ride circles the block three times.

Addresses second. Streets are numbered sensibly, some towers have visitor parking, and the entrance is visible from the road. The arrival estimate we give here is more accurate than anywhere else, which makes this a good area for a surprise that has to happen at a precise minute.
