Thirty-nine, and I work differently

I am the oldest in the catalogue, and that is not a footnote but the thing people book.

Milf is not a movement style but a kind of relationship with the room. It runs on ease rather than energy, on familiarity rather than surprise. At twenty-two you cannot fake it, and at thirty-nine you do not have to.

Evenings for couples: the room I am most in

This is what separates me from most of the catalogue, so it goes first.

Half my bookings are a couple rather than a group. Two people who wanted to do something together, and usually it is their first time. It is a delicate room: if the dancer walks in with bachelor-party energy, the evening breaks in two minutes.

What I do instead: come in, talk, work out who booked for whom, and start slowly. I speak to both of them rather than to one — that is the most common mistake in this format, and it is also why couples who booked once come back.

The rules do not change because it is a couple: guests do not initiate contact, I set the distance and I end the set. It is said quietly at the start, and it is precisely what takes the tension out.

Early bookings

I am the only one in the catalogue who also works in the afternoon, and there is a whole audience for it.

A birthday at six for a group whose children are already asleep upstairs. An evening for a couple who get up early. A work event that finishes at eight. All of those are hard to arrange with someone who starts at half past ten.

Those hours have a technical advantage too: daylight. I work in a style that does not hide behind darkness, so an early hour does not bother me — you only need to draw a curtain and switch off the ceiling light.

Lap dance at a different pace

I also do lap dance, and with me it looks unlike what most people picture.

Not six intense minutes but ten unhurried ones. Less movement, more holds, and far more eye contact. It works particularly well with someone who is not sure he wants it — and with couples that is nearly always the case.

The requirements are the same: a stable armless chair, two metres square of clear floor, light from the side. The only difference is that I do not rush.

Soft fetish glam

My third style, and I stress the word soft.

Fetish glam with me is a look and a mood: gloves, a soft corset, a heel, control of the tempo. There is no latex, no equipment and nothing beyond dancing. Anyone looking for something else will not find it with me, and I say so in the first message rather than at the door.

Why have it at all: because some couples want something a little bolder than burlesque and less cold than latex, and this is exactly the point in between.

What happens in the first two minutes

I do not start dancing immediately, and it is deliberate.

In a room with a couple or four people there is a moment of uncertainty: nobody knows where to sit, what it is acceptable to look at, or where to put their hands. Walking into that moment with loud music leaves the room tight for the rest of the evening.

So I come in, sit down, ask a question or two — who the evening is for, who booked, what is fine. Two minutes, and after them the room knows how to behave. From there I can work slowly, which is my whole style.

Light and music: what I ask for

Two small things that change the evening more than the style does.

Light: one lamp to the side, ceiling light off. At early hours, a drawn curtain rather than full darkness. I work in a style that looks good in soft light rather than one that needs to hide.

Music: I arrive with the playlist and it is relatively quiet. If there is one track that matters to you it can be worked in. What does not work is a club set: at that tempo everything I do looks too slow, and that is not because I am slow but because it is fast.

Who I suit less

A group of twenty who have been drinking for two hours. I do not give them what I am good at, and the room does not get what it wants from me.

A classic high-energy bachelor party is not my format either. There are people in the catalogue built precisely for that, and I will say so in a message rather than take an evening that will not work.

What I ask for

• A stable armless chair

• A mid-sized speaker; I do not work at volume
• A room with a door to change in
